    I really love that detail & nostalgic, visceral, realistic context.

    Pic 4 is just awesome from Zerte. I am mesmerized when mom (apron replete) explains to her naughty daughter that she will spank her thighs....and then she must take her panties down in order to smack her botty with the martinet. Oh my! Lovely detail and purposeful intent from this no-nonsense mom after my own heart, B !! All grounded in practical experience and authenticity, of course, B. Her daughter's thighs are already bare for the martinet with her skirt lifted. However, her panties must also be slipped down (baisse la culotte) to expose the skin on her bottom for the necessary maternal punishment with Le Martinet to proceed in the normal, traditional fashion. Absolutely correct there, B ! Lovely domestic scene.

    Likewise on pic 3. Oh my! Another lovely crushingly cute mother/daughters scene. With our very own naughty lil' Rosaleen (cutey yellow panties, correctly adjusted for discipline, already)
    Oh my! This is exactly how I would have gotten my bottom smacked by my mother as a naughty lil' girl had I gotten raised en France, B. What a powerful thought.
    Instead, it was "cane to bare botty" for me in my living in Georgia in the 1960s. Boo-Hoos a bunch!

      Waldo does know the martinet, but Zerte got the best sense of it with the informal side, unlike the formal side of the cane...
