Glorious vintage photo of a time when bare bottom chastisement for recalcitrant daughters was a simple fact of life. A rite of passage for y'all ! Of course, in France in the 1960s , I would have gotten deculottee, like this photo, for Le Martinet cul nu. Boo-Hoo! How cute n scary!! How very normal.
Gorgeous Rosaleen Young (photo 4) gotten to bend over like this for the cane on her bare botty in real life, growing up, B. Boo-Hoos a bunch! She gotten a strict, Presbyterian upbringing where naughty steps were decidedly absent (sadly) Oh my! It was Janus of course, that furnished me with all the details on the UK, B.
Last photo 5, is all too visceral. After our punishment sentence gotten passed, my lil' sister and I gotten our clothes duly adjusted (hands on heads) and then placed our uber-sensitive, bare, alabaster-white botties over the sofa for mom's dreaded cane, in the 60s and 70s. Again, it was absolutely no big deal for sure in yore, B. Just a routine, necessary par for the course when we were naughty at home. Wishy-washy discipline was not endured!! Quite right too!
