Love the cutey blue ribbons in her goody two-shoes bunches, already!
The sharp yellow in drawing two is delightful, B. Yellow tops n dresses take me right back to 1950s/60s Georgia, when the world was in black n white (and y'all bottoms gotten very red!) Sepia tints were in vogue and I adored and coveted all those fine yellow outfits purveyed by the strict, kind, redoubtable moms at church and coffee mornings, B. Oh my!!
The lovely first drawing is a take on the iconic front cover of National Lampoon magazine in September 1975 (back to college edition) I was mesmerized to see that naughty schoolgirl having her bare bottom spanked and it was the most powerful and influential image I had ever seen! This was also the advent of Janus and I was to become a Freshman at college later in the 70s, escaping my strict, religious upbringing. For sure, that bare bum smacking on the front cover was imprinted on my mind for ever!
