Sure thing, B. That was certainly my mother's view for me and my sister in the 1960s & 70s. And her view for y'all daughters in general. My sister & I never gotten our botties bared for a smacking in public (most of my girlfriends did however!) but when we gotten home, mom fetched the cane and there was certainly no excuse whatsoever, for two pairs of panties not to be pulled down for the sentence to be carried out properly & effectively. And yes, Oh my! Our knickers always gotten taken down & mom's cane stung like absolute Merry Hell on a bare botty. Quite right too! That is the idea: harsh, harmless, safe & salutary, we all agree. It's normal & necessary. "Harmless Hell" I call it. Mom just called it a spanking!

It's a wonderful example of a good, sound, no-nonsense, spontaneous spanking. Baring of bottoms is essential & easily done - I love the way her panties flutter down to her knees with ease!!
Yes, delays are useful for sober effect: hands on head, scolding, panties down process; but in essence it's about, raising dresses, pulling down panties exposing the sensitive skin on the naughty girl's backside, & tanning it soundly with the martinet, cane, tawse, plimsoll, hairbrush or whatever, B!! No need for prolonged rituals or bizarre schedules: out comes the cane, botties on show: down come a pair of dungarees/or skirts hoisted and down come the knickers!!!
Thank you to Jayent for this amazing gif & photos. I was always amazed in more recent years, with PC more prominent (not too prominent in Georgia, thank the Lord) when some younger moms at church, were surprised to hear, chatting over coffee etc, that I gotten raised with the cane (from mom) growing up in the 60s...and even more aghast to learn that my sister & I always gotten our panties taken down for punishment on our bare buttocks. A right good skelpin'! Indeed, that was the only way it should be done in my book, B. Perfectly logical, proper & strict (& stingy!!!) when lies & bad behaviour made punishment necessary. I never thought anything of it, really, and the Church advocated proper "Christian" discipline strongly, already. Oh my!
