Our spankings were "in front of God", typically American. My mom never said, "this is gonna hurt me more than you!" That would be lying, B! Oh my!
Those redoubtable church moms of 1960s Georgia sure gotten some wonderful cute but scary sayings, B. They were humorous in hineysight at least.
Love that paddle drawing for O&P link - very Southern, already. A flat bottom ha-ha! That daughter is getting spanked at home (unclothed buttocks) whereas at school it was always clothed buttocks, of course. We besties sure noted the difference in rules & protocol!!
