Redoubtable church moms told me that (every darn week!) in the 1960s, B! Daughters must be busy at al times, B. Structured not unstructured oversight is required.
Is this a music lesson at Oaks & Pines, B ? :-) She sings (as her botty stings) with piercing high notes & octaves of strict teaching & guidance. Scales & arpeggios will be clearer when the cane is retrieved!
No laziness or imperfections are tolerated. Sports training, music practice, academic excellence, church scriptures, Bible Class: hard work & industrious, timetabled regimes are essential for a goody two-shoes, well-mannered existence for young ladies, B. Our tender, bare "seats of learning" will pay for the price for our learning. For y'all wayward antics, bad attitude (Brattitude) and thank the Lord, any sins of our Church.

So love this from early 1980s Blushes, thank you, B. Good times & memories. Boo-Hoo! The musical lushness is underpinned by good, Spartan attitudes (and corporal punishment). I can relate to that!!

It was Janus 23 (November 1983) for Pippa Marshal, B. Not Volume 13. Apologies.
Also, Oh my! Asa's site today has a superlative vintage style caning by the armchair. Mommy has to bare her daughter's bottom after her disgraceful antics at a party, & administer 12 strokes of the cane in the required, normal fashion. Albeit the guests are present (& fully supportive) and it's one stroke for each strike of the clock on bare buttocks. Yup! That is normal - I gotten the same from my mom!! How very apt for New Year, B.
Boo-Hoo! A proper sore botty for a naughty girl to see in the New Year. I so approve. And this lovely fiercely kind and caring Mom is a (long suffering) superhero for sure. Chastisement is successful and strict New Year Resolutions have a nice, new stinging precedent, already! A great, authentic post from Asa. Hugs n smackies Brenda xx
