I love the routine necessity, acceptance & normality of CP in the every-day context "give us our daily bread" when we are naughty in front of God in yore. Oh my! Happy, strict times. I was raised in a matriarchal environment of our local Southern church. Everything was happy, strict, Christian n traditional - y'all girls were immersed Church, Cheerleading, Country (music) and....chastisements!!! "Spare the rod spoil the child" was the absolute, Spartan doctrine from Bible class to family gatherings. Moms were "ferociously kind" & spanked y'all tender, bare princess botties good n hard. The rod was never spared in our culture, B!!! No ma'am!! "Fetch the cane!" Woe betide recalcitrant daughters, princess besties or nieces!
To my utter amazement, I discovered in the 1970s, that the Janus letters concurred with my own childhood. British girls gotten their bare botties caned at home too!!! It was function of good parenting & strict family values. I was pleased to see this. Same for Dutch, French, German & Nigerian girls too, as recounted in the magazines. Whistling canes & bare, tiger-striped botties were a fact of family life: dresses up, panties down for the rod! Bums across the ocean, B :-)
One good Janus lady recalls her 1950s childhood: "I had to fetch the cane from the umbrella stand in the hall and bring it to my Mum before taking down my knickers and bending over the chair in my room. The usual number of strokes for my sister and me was six on the bare bottom." So cute, simple n delightful, B!!
One strict, normal, good grandmother writes, mid 1970s, how she now uses her trusted cane on her naughty lil' granddaughter when she misbehaves, just as she did her own daughter in the 1940s n 50s: "of course, knickers have to come down so that it stings", she writes. Oh my! Poor lil' botty, B!!! Soooo fierce, candid but cute, B. Love that. I sooo love her cool, matter of fact, good lady nonchalance of it all, B. CP is essential. Strict n loving after my own heart. Smacked, bare, red botties were nothing but normal in these Janus reports. Quite right too, B! Normal & necessary as I always phrased it myself to fellow church moms later in the 1980s.
Just to say, dearest B, I am soon on my travels & adventures. So I will report back for Spartan duty, strict observations & comment in early August :-) In the meantime, big thanks, big hugs, ferociously kind guidance n sadly caned (deknickered) poor-sore, blazing blanches et rouges botties to you, B.
