Photo 5 typifies a 1970s Janus letter, B - a daughter of a headmaster contrasts the smackings & canings over knickers at school...to the rather different experience of on a bare botty at home!! Oh dear, B! Boo-Hoo! Well, yes, that is normal & necessary in my book, & how it should be. And indeed her father with that cane at home, was also in fact, the headmaster at her school. GULP!
"Then at home my knickers would come down for a real bare bottom spanking. You received six strokes".

Lil' Miss Elizabeth Simpson gotten "cane to bare botty" growing up
Dearest B, why yes, I was recently mesmerized to discover that Elizabeth gotten the cane from her mom n pop at home in her childhood....bare botty every time too! Oh my! What a discovery :-)
Miss Simpson's redoubtable, kind but fierce mother introduced the cane at a young age, and she would usually ask pop to administer it in the living room - panties pulled down to knees! Oh dear! This was the normal, frequent punishment of the house for Elizabeth.
I had previously thought (for over 20 years, B!!) that Miss Simpson had gotten the traditional plimsoll across her bare buttocks when she naughty at home in yore, but this only happened rarely. In fact, it was the cane that was the normal botty smacker in residence, and that whistled across the bare, orthodox surface, when chastisement was required. I sure can relate to this. I do find this news compelling, B.
Moreover, Miss E Simpson said that when she was naughty in store or on a day trip, her mother would emphatically say the words "cane" and "bare bottom" in the same sentence - loud n clear - as a warning shot, so that naughty lil' Elizabeth was oh so certain as to her mother's intentions, if behaviour n attitude did not improve. Oh my! Oh my! Quite right too in my book, B. I soooo love that fact, B. Sounds exactly like my own mom!!!
Also, Rosaleen Young, beautifully standing on the link photo above, (sooooo love her perky poor botty & hands on head combo) also gotten the cane on her bare bum growing up in a strict, Presbyterian family.
