    Plus ca change - daughters earning their stripes

    Kind Monsieur, on dry land, suddenly remembered his wife, Brenda's words, as the boating scene, farce unbridled, unfolded on the river...

    "Boater on on head. Panties around knees", Brenda had said, with a wry smile. And a rueful rub too! Brenda was talking about the rattan cane - "the botty smacker"- firstly as she had received it on her bare bottom from her mother, over the years, growing up. And secondly as she now strongly advocated it for their own two daughters, now that naughty steps & groundings were becoming so ineffective.

    "Cane to bare bottyland" is what is now needed, Brenda frequently remarked to her hubby with firm conviction and a clinking of champagne glasses. "It is the only way", she said, rather uncompromisingly, for due comfort. "Sure whipped me & my sister into shape!" she summarized.

    But kind monsieur disagreed with CP, already. The naughty step would suffice. He disagreed with his wife.
    Well, he did... until until now at least....

    And then he witnessed the two naughty girls, the rocking boat, the red stripes upon the orthodox surface, the flying pretty boater.

    "Yes perhaps the time is now nigh' " he thought. Good behaviour MUST now prevail. Brenda is so right. The rod of correction. The seat of learning is best....knicks put down, firmly on the bare shall it be, thought kind Monsieur. It will be normal & necessary.
    Oh dear! Oh dear! As they say, for those two girls, the past is another country....

      Hah! Returning to the time prior to having discovered "noise" (color randomizing) to avoid colors being too smooth and therefore looking unnatural.
      I am getting technical, sorry!
      Well spotted, drawing 4 is a new colorized one!
      I like the idea of Mom being more severe, something quite realistic and to keep in mind for future story...
