    Wow! First photo adorns the front cover of my memoirs, B. Oh my! One of my absolute fave photos of all time. That's my mom & my sister in yore, exactly as shown...cane to bare botty! That was the punishment back then.
    Second photo is truly awesome too. An amazing sequence. Photos are from Janus, January 1980, Volume 9 number 1.

    That first photo (or an almost identical view) was on the front cover of this Janus edition....just mesmerizing. My whole existence & normal, strict upbringing in the 1960/70s summarized by one photo, B ha-ha-ha!
    The rod of correction indeed !

    They are stills from an early Janus film called The Art of Caning - very authentic & iconic. Aunty Jean chastises her niece, Christine for stealing money from her purse. Aunty fetches the lovely, nasty cane which is handily kept on the shelf. All very realistic, B.
    It's one of the earliest Janus films from 1977/78 - and was distributed via London Life magazine originally, as was that other fabled Janus classic, "Late for School."

    Oh my! As a Southern belle (raised with the maternal cane) I soooooo love the tan lines framing naughty Christine's dimpled, lily white botty on photo one, B!!!!! For a nano-second, it looks like she gotten another pair of soft, white panties on underneath, B ?!
    ha-ha! But alas, no ! Boo-hoo! Her poor niece's bottom is now completely bare and on show for the appropriate punishment with the whippy, rattan smacker.

    Sun tan lines & bright white buttocks were such a signature aspect of naughty girls in Georgia having their bare white naughty bottoms whooped back in the 1960s !!!!
    Our dazzling- white princess botties & sun tan lines are soooo Vintage, B. Well, 1950s-1970s. And so I totally & viscerally associate our girly, alabaster-white bums & fine sun tan lines with normal corporal punishment at home, B !!!
    By the early 1980s, things changed: and y'all girls started to fashion suntanned bums & the all-over-bronzed Californian-beach look!
    (skimpy swim suits, already)

    The lovely link photo is from The Prefect's Lesson 1981, which features in the 5th Edition of New Janus, May1981. This is the first Janus film with sound, B. Albeit it is a voiceover effect. This is Janus's fifth film in The Lesson series.

      Chubby bright alabaster white bum about to be tanned to a shade which has nothing to do with the sun!
