  2. The final drawing in black n white: The Corrugated Botty!

"Why do you always pull my panties down for the cane mom", said Brenda

"Because it is punishment, Brenda!" said mom.

Sure thing, B! Corrugated indeed. The cane on my tender, bare botty surface-skin was the only proper way to do it when I was a bad lil' princess! I so love that painful, last drawing in black n white - Ouchieess to sensitive botties! Boo-Hoo! And exactly as my mother confirmed it in the 1960s, with her scary brief response to my question about knickers in situ! A spartan riposte to my alarm & concern for my squishy-white botty skins & my bad behaviour!!...as mother fetched the cane.

This iconic drawing is one of the early, pioneering art pieces by Paula Hardcastle, that featured in Janus in the late 1970s/early 80s.
Her awesome, powerful drawings were so authentic & visceral & realistically captured the essence of corporal punishment for British girls at the time - both at home with strict parents, & at school.

Oh my! Paula's pictures transported me back to my (then recent) 60s/70s childhood when my sister & I gotten routinely chastised with the cane on our bare buttocks by our loving, God-fearing strict mom, when we were naughty. That was the punishment in the absence of wokerati platforms & PC nonsense, thank the Lord!! Growing up in conservative, religious Atlanta, Georgia meant strict, bare bottom spankings were just normal & necessary rite of passage in suburban families.

Sadly, Paula's artwork deteriorated in the mid 1980s (in my humble opinion) when she moved away from a realistic, harsh but fair, domestic CP focus of naughty daughters; & towards a more fantasy-orientated, light-hearted spanking genre...including office-based spanking scenes. But this early, pioneering, authentic drawing above, takes me right back to the normal, necessary bare bottom canings that my sister & I received from mother a bunch when growing up in a happy, Southern, suburban, Christian family in the 60s/70s.

My mom's "it's punishment Brenda" brief, stern reply to my forlorn, unsuccessful appeal for my "no panties down please begging!" underlined mom's no-nonsense, uncompromising approach to proper bare bottom punishment with the spanking stick, thank the Lord, B. Mom was absolutely right! It sure taught us good, lifelong lessons.
    CP good. PC bad.
    Hugs n thanks.
    Brenda xx
