Yup! We sure knew it, B! When "Mrs cane paid a short, sharp visit to botty land!"
It sure made us think of our behaviour & consequences of our actions, B. Taught us right from wrong in effect (on the orthodox surface). Accountability, responsibility & respect for others emerged from the sting! Good values & social mores condensed around the swarm of bees savaging the sensitive skin on our naughty buttocks. Lessons gotten learned. Oh yes they did!
There was never any compromise. No quarter given. The "hornets nest" special skin treatment (1960s style from mom) was constant & ever-present: AKA cane to bare botty!
In the 1970s, Janus had the shear cheek & temerity to call it a "sensible panties down caning for daughters at home" :-)
Oh my! It was Harmless Hell, B. Salutary, normal & necessary. It was a fact of life. And y'all girls thought nothing of it....until we across the floor into the corner with the stingy-hoppy-princess-brat-dance !! Hands on head of course. No chastened-raw, botty-skin-soothy-smoothy-rubs permitted, already! Waiting, postponement, scolding & delay is everything. Boo-Hoo! I remember it all too well, B.
