Vintage Yore...a world of black n white, when naughty bottoms gotten very red!
ReplyDeleteSooooo love the black n white photos. My 1960s childhood was framed by black n white photos, and by the resounding smack of the cane upon my bare botty. Y'all heard ti in the sultry suburbs (our neighbours sure heard it!!!) Two sensitive bare botties for chastisement, in fact- all squishy-white & fairy-soft, & one cane, for that of my naughty sister too. It was a sound of good parenting and strict, traditional, Southern, family values. It was normal, B.
Oh my! Transitioning into the 1970s, like the second montage of photos here (post our 1969 moon landing) Atlanta burst into colour, and modern "technicolour" photos endured...but still the smack of cane upon our bare botties. That was the punishment. Tt sure was necessary over those years...and sure whipped us into shape.
Later, I found these Blushes photos so visceral & authentic. And of course, the preceding ones in Janus & Roue in the late 1970s.
Janus editors said, 1970s, that recalcitrant daughters should be awarded with "a sensible knickers-down caning" from parents when they misbehaved at home. Sure thing, B! That is exactly what I gotten. Cane to bare botty, AKA, Harmless Hell & some humbling was endured on the orthodox surface in front of God. I sure approve.
