Spartan TLC & sensitive skin treatment for recalcitrant daughters! (AKA cane to bare botty from mother, in front of God!)
Oh my! This is beyond sublime, B. This is how it should be done! I was a fan on the new Moral Order in Janus (mid 1980s) while in my mid twenties. I was working in a large, global corp in Atlanta back then & y'all Church moms would discuss CP regarding raising daughters, Southern style.
Well, B. This sequence from you above, why, thank you, shows exactly how to deal with insufferable, lil' princess brats who run amok in the store n mall...naughty girls who terrorize the scene & even hit their mommies. Why for sure, a few leg smacks can calm the situation for a moment (tartan blue short skirt facilitates that). But when y'all gotten home...well, the soft, sensitive skin on that naughty bare botty must be the target for the punishment!! The seat of learning!! Indeed, her bare princess seat should be the target for the cane, no less!
Strict loving moms need to keep the quality, whippy, thin, rattan cane handy in the cupboard for daughters' unprotected bottoms. Period!! And as my mother said to me (as a child in the 1960s) there is no point smacking bare legs in public and then clothed bottoms in private. Nope!! That never happened, God darn it...our bare legs gotten smacked with the hand in public and our bare botties soundly with the cane in private back at home !!!! Bare legs and bare botties only, B. The cane is suitable for the latter: IT STINGS! And it is harmless.
This scene with Alison Miller shows how moms should do it, B! I love each & every photo: but especially photo 3 - cane hovering over unprotected, sensitive-skinned botty. And photo 4: the hornets nest has landed on the tender, bare place provided. That was my childhood punishment pure & simple. Cul Nu pour le canne!! No compromise!!! Photo 5 is the end result. the bottom line, B :-)
Back to Janus, which I discovered in the late 1970s ( as a student) & I so adored the candid letters from readers who documented their CP at home. One Janus letter in the 1970s from a father of three daughters in the UK, first described growing up & regularly seeing his two sisters receive the cane on their bare backsides from their papa in the 1940s & 50s. He then subsequently describes raising his three daughters (at that actual time of his letter in the 1970s) similarly with the cane, & how he administers it on their bare bottoms, over his knee, in their bedrooms He says,
"I have the stick. Our three small girls, if they misbehave, then navy knicks come down as did their aunties', & I fix them firmly across my knee for simply six of the best, & we do it privately now in their bedrooms".
I so like the aunties n daughters reference to "navy knicks" pulled down for the cane on y'all bare behinds, & the timeline in his retrospective narrative. Oh my!
These typical, biopic letters in Janus & Roue were from an age when naughty daughters gotten their botties bared for the cane or strap or plimsoll at home. CP good. PC bad. Or rather, PC not invented, already!! Quite right too! No need for naughty steps back then. Times changed in the UK....but not in Georgia, thank the Lord! I am 64 now, but I approved of the strict chastisements & indeed advocated the cane for fellow moms to purchase for their daughters bare seats! And I always took great interest in these Janus readers' accounts, relating it back to my own childhood whoopings a few years' before. Sure did me good, B. Fabulous montage. An absolute fave.
